Know Thy Customer – Specifically

“Know your enemy… er, customer!” There’s always some sort of advertising available to you – you know this. What you may not realize is that you literally have to think like your customer before you can cater to their specific need through advertising. What this means is that for each diverse and targeted group, you will require an equally diverse and targeted advertising approach. What’s important to them? What scares them? What makes them happy? What are they passionate about? Answer these questions – and others – before you consider where to put your advertising effort. The Return On Investment will be exponentially larger than if you just toss an ad out into the world and hope for something to happen.
